3D Pen Workshop #2

3D Pen Workshop #2

Katya Venter

3D Pen Workshop with Katya Venter

10am-12pm Saturday 1 October 2022

Join Umbrella and exhibiting artist Katya Venter to develop unique artworks with a 3D pen. This approach enables a shift away from a flat surface to designing and drawing three-dimensional forms. The artist will lead participants through the 3D-printed techniques and processes used to create the sculptures presented in her exhibition How to be a Good Doll, whose abstract forms inspire curiosity and reflection.

The workshop will be suitable for beginners and artists alike. The fee covers all materials needed for the workshop: a 3D pen, PLA filament and a variety of objects that can be used as reference or base for the sculptures. The workshop ticket price includes one 3D pen (new, apart from use in the workshop; RRP $79.95) that participants will keep. Attendees should wear closed-in shoes in the studio.

How to be a Good Doll is on display 26 August - 2 October 2022.

Limited to 8 spaces | Bookings close 4pm Friday 30 September 2022. | If you are not already an Umbrella Member and want the workshop discount, sign up here. This workshop will take place in Umbrella’s downstairs Makerspace at 408 Flinders St (next to Mary Who? Bookshop and opposite Woolworths). Visitors must comply with Umbrella’s COVID-19 Safety Plan and directives.
