Miniature Painting Workshop

Miniature Painting Workshop

Catherine Parker

Miniature Painting Workshop

1pm-4pm Sunday 31 July 2022

Join Umbrella and exhibiting artist Catherine Parker to create an ethereal miniature acrylic painting. Workshop participants will be guided through elements of Parker's process, which features an intuitive and conceptual approach to painting and to painting landscapes. While empowering participants to unearth their own style, the artist will reveal the approach that constitutes her signature style. Catherine's style is clearly visible in the artworks developed in collaboration with Ron McBurnie and Stephen Spurrier that are presented in the POSTWORLD exhibition.

The workshop will be suitable for beginners and artists alike. Participants should wear closed-in shoes and are encouraged to bring reference materials. The workshop fee covers all other materials.

Any unfinished paintings from this workshop can be further worked on during the Collaborative Workshop on Sunday 14 August 10am-4pm. The workshop is facilitated by Catherine Parker and her Cosmic Witness collaborators, Ron McBurnie and Stephen Spurrier.

POSTWORLD is on display 15 July - 21 August 2022. It is co-curated by Kate O’Hara and Daniel Qualischefski of Umbrella Studio Contemporary Arts and commissioned by NAFA.
