Jo Lankester gained a Bachelor of Visual Arts (BVA) majoring in printmaking at the Victorian College of The Arts, 1994. Lankester is an award recipient of the 2nd Student International Art Biennial, Art Gallery Skopje, Macedonia, and the Canson National Student Print Award in 1994. Currently living as a practising printmaking artist in Gurambilbarra/Townsville, gaining casual employment through various arts organisations and high schools as artist in residence and mentoring through workshops. Lankester was a sessional teacher at James Cook University from 1999-2002, then commenced work at Perc Tucker Regional Gallery, Gurambilbarra/Townsville, in exhibitions and collections until 2010 giving her an extensive knowledge of artworks from Gurambilbarra/Townsville and far North Queensland.
