Katherine Cornwall is multi-disciplinary visual artist who makes paintings, prints and sculpture. A visual arts career has been Katherine’s focus. Despite being situated in Gurambillbarra/Townsville, North Queensland; many of her paintings’ subjects are taken from the wetter, cooler environments of the tropical rainforests closer to Cairns. This dynamic environment greatly resembles the land in her country of origin, Fiji. With drawing as her original skill-base, Katherine’s detail is meticulously recorded. Her work is contemporary in style. She works with various media in an abstract, yet considered process of layering imagery, tone and colour.
