Reduction linocut with monotype and hand colouring on paper, 2022, 70cm (h) x 50cm (w), Edition 1/1.

Sheree Kinlyside's art practice has, since gaining a BA (visual arts/printmaking) at James Cook University in 2000, continued in her home studios on the outskirts of Gurambilbarra/Townsville. In 2006 she began to print and produce artists books and prints under the banner of Red Rag Press, a multifunctional workspace that supports the voice and vision of women artists. In 2019 Kinlyside’s practice began to focus on self-directed study of the properties of colour and colour relationships. As a result of this, her current practice involves colour relief printmaking and monotypes with the addition of stitch and textiles as well as design work for 3D mixed media works in collaboration with her partner Alan Carpenter. Kinlyside believes that connecting with other artists is an intrinsic part of art production. Thus, she has participated in group exhibitions, projects and residencies in Australia and the UK as well as several book arts and print shows in the US, UK and Ireland. Kinlyside’s work has been purchased by SLQ, SLV, Mitchel library Sydney, Art Gallery of NSW, Australian National Library, Perc Tucker Regional Gallery, Mackay Artspace, Cork Printmakers and private collectors in NZ, the US and UK.
